Fight With Your Heart®
Emily's Kids Foundation: A nonprofit that raises money for the families of children with cancer
STRENGTH, COURAGE, DIGNITY
Emily’s Kids Foundation, Inc. is a nonprofit that supports North Carolina families dealing with childhood cancer. In particular, we supply families with gift cards to offset some of the costs of visiting a child in a hospital. This includes parking vouchers, gas cards, and gift cards for food.
We established the “Gold Ribbon Scholarship” program to help students, whether it is for college or technical school, or for high school or middle school students who are in need of something to finish their classes.
The foundation was the idea of Emily Ann Field, who was diagnosed at the age of 17 with Ewing’s Sarcoma. Her journey lasted eleven months, and she fought her battle with strength, courage, and dignity. She cared for those around her and consoled them the best she could. She lost her battle with cancer on November 22, 2008. In May 2009, Emily’s Kids Foundation, Inc. (a 501c 3 nonprofit organization) was founded in the memory of Emily Ann Field.
